Cais do Porto is your starting point to
explore Paraty Bay. Saveiros are the larger
boats, and you can go on a tour with other
travelers. These boats usually leave in the
morning, and you stop at beaches and near
islands. Some of these islands are private, with
posh mansions and yachts.
If you are with a small group you can
alternatively rent a smaller fishermen's motor
boat, and arrange for a private tour. There are several diving and
snorkeling spots in the area, and you can
have more control on how long you stay where.
Make your arrangements directly at the pier, or
through one of the local travel agencies.
The sea of Paraty bay is very gentle, and you
shouldn't get seasick. Even if you are not an
athlete, the water is so clear it will be hard to
resist going for a dip. If you don't swim at all,
ask for a stop at a favorite beach such as Praia
da Lula. With a raft you can be dropped right on
the sand, without even getting your feet wet!
