Cariocas learn very young that the beach is
the place to be. From early morning
to 9 a.m. many young Cariocas take their
daily dose of sun. With all the sand to
play with, you won't find a better
playground anywhere else.
Every
now and then, when the tide recedes, the
sand bank makes a small pool of salt
water that is constantly renovated when a
bigger wave breaks. These are the best
days ever to take your children to the
beach!
Baixo Bebê is a kiosk at Leblon Beach that
is dedicated to young Cariocas, and it's
very popular with local families. It's
right across from Venâncio Flores
Street. In the afternoon it's time to
meet more babies at the
square and socialize, but that's
another tour.
