Cap Ferrat Beach

We tried to find out where some of the best looking people in Ipanema get together. It is hard to tell for sure, the area starting from Rua Garcia D'Ávila, going past Posto 10 all the way to the Country Club a good bet.

Right in the middle of this stretch stands tall a building named Cap Ferrat. It may be the least conspicuous of all luxurious apartment buildings on Av. Vieira Souto. Each apartment is around 600 square meters, and they are never even offered in the market.

But nobody comes here to see a buch of celebrities or millionaires. This is a part of Ipanema Beach that is still pretty much in the hands of locals. People hang out with their friends, they have a favorite beach kiosk and know the staff by name.

Beach Fashion for boys and girls

surfing in ipanemaIf you are wondering what we are doing here, the answer is simple. Sharing images of Ipanema locals and friends, to give you an idea of what they wear at the beach. Bikinis, Speedos, trunks, accessories, and everything a Ipanemense keeps handy while at the beach.
As we mentioned this is a bustling yet family-friend part of the beach. People that go to the samey neighborhood gym, for instance, have a favorite spot. They know they will meet familiar faces and share beach umbrellas, and chairs. Their kids play along and this is how lifetime friendship bonds begin.

This is a view of Arpoador, where surfing was born in Rio. Praia do Diabo, next to Arpoador, also has good waves. Sometimes it is easier to jump off the rocks than paddling past the point where waves break. Now we are at Posto 10, near Rua Anibal de Mendonca.
