There's lots to do and see in the State of Rio de Janeiro. For
beaches, and diving consider the Green
Coast down South (Angra dos Reis, Paray, Ilha Grande), and the Sun
Coast out West (Cabo Frio, Buzios, Arraial do Cabo). For
a milder climate and a romantic atmosphere, consider the mountains up
North. Petropolis and Teresopolis are less than two hours away from the
city of Rio! Penedo, Itatiaia, Visconde de
Maua and Maromba are about three hours away, and also definitely
worth a visit.
Use our clickable map to visit some of the favorite weekend getaways. Our first featured destinations are the mountains on the Northeast of the state. Here you will find the Finnish village of Penedo, and Parque Nacional de Itatiaia, Brazil's oldest national park. We proceed to Paraty, the most preserved colonial town in Rio, surrounded by crystal blue sea, and hundreds of islands and beaches. Keep a bookmark to this page, as more attractions will be available soon! |
