were announced on Wednesday (March 1) and, as usual, many disagreed with the results. The big winner was Vila Isabel, one of the most traditional samba schools.
Mangueira
lost a few points because one of the members of the jury was not happy to see so much pink and green on the samba runway - even though these are the official colors of the school!
Grande Rio
placed second, got a 10 in evolution - even though the school had to rush in the last few minutes or they would bust the time limit.
Unidos da Tijuca
a school that has been presenting some of the most creative floats in the last few years, was placed sixth. Many people felt this was an unfair result, but at least everybody got a chance to see them parade with the winners on Saturday.
