Each samba school has 75 minutes to march. As there are at least 3,500 people to go, passistas do not get to stay on the runway longer than 20 minutes, 25 tops. The experience is very intense and very fast. Soccer players have already compared it to the feeling they get when they enter a the field for a match. People that may well be shy on their everyday life let themselves go, play and interact with the audience, do the samba and sing for all they're worth. The least you can do to show some appreciation is stand and cheer as they pass!
